GUWAHATI: Reacting to former Assam minister Ajanta Neog’s BJP joining, Congress MLA from Mariani, Rupjyoti Kurmi said that the grand old party is not hampered by the exit of any individual.
“My respect to Mahi (Maternal aunt). I don’t want to say anything to Mahi. The time will give answer to her. Congress is a big tree. When one branch is broken, new branches will come,” said Kurmi on Tuesday.
The Mariani legislator also said that he would not leave Congress at any cost.
“I will be there holding the Congress flag if there is no anyone,” Kurmi added.
“Now, I am 43. I will live around 17 years more. I have already said my wife if I don’t win in the next election, I will go for pilgrimage,” the Congress MLA further said.
