CM Sonowal hands over Rs. 4 lakh each to 1,279 former NDFB cadres

GUWAHATI: Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal handed over financial grant of Rs. 4 lakh each to 1,279 former National Democratic Front of Bodoland (NDFB) cadres at a function at Gauhati Medical College and Hospital auditorium on Tuesday.

The NDFB cadres laid down their arms for signing the historic Bodo Peace Accord in 2020.

Speaking on the occasion, CM Sonowal lauded the former militants for joining the mainstream for the peace and progress of the State.

“A momentous day!

Ceremonially handed over financial grant of ₹ 4 lakh each to 1,279 former NDFB cadres in Guwahati. I applaud their decision to return to the mainstream & believe that this grant will lead them to contribute further towards growth of Assam.

Along with the Chief Minsiter, Assam Director General of Police (DGP) Bhaskar Jyoti Mahanta and other top security officials also attended the event.
