Assam CM mourns death of News Live Correspondent

GUWAHATI: Assam chief minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma mourned the demise of News Live Bokajan correspondent Rubul Dihingia on Sunday. Dihingia died of post-COVID complications at Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH).

“Chief minister @himantabiswa expressed deep grief over the untimely demise of News Live Bokajan correspondent Rubul Dihingia. The Chief Minister wished eternal peace to the departed soul of the journalist and conveyed his deepest condolences to the bereaved family,” chief minister office said in a tweet in Assamese.

Rubul had tested positive for COVID-19 on April 23. He was shifted to GMCH COVID ICU for the treatment.

He tested negative a couple of days ago following which he was shifted to the non-COVID ICU but passed away today morning due to post COVID complications.

Rubul passed away even after testing negative.

He left behind his wife and two sons.
