Guwahati: Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla on Thursday suspended 7 Congress MPs –Gaurav Gogoi, TN Prathapan, Manickam Tagore, Gurjeet Singh Aujla, Benny Behanan, Rajmohan Unnithan and Adv. Dean Kuriakose for disrupting the proceedings of the House for the rest of the Budget Session.
The motion was passed by a voice vote. The House was adjourned at 15:03 hours for the day to meet again tomorrow March 6 at 11:00 hours.
It is to be mentioned that the Lok Sabha proceedings were disrupted for the third day as opposition parties created an uproar demanding immediate discussion on the Delhi violence.
“Snatching papers from Speaker’s table utmost disrespect to Chair, we condemn this. We have requested Speaker to set up panel to look into continuous indiscipline by Congress members,” said Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi.
