Guwahati: Schools and colleges in Assam are likely to re-open from September 1 for classes 10, 12 and final semester students.
This was informed by Assam education minister Ranuj Pegu in Guwahati.
Pegu said that a final decision on the re-opening of classes is awaiting approval of the Assam cabinet.
The state education minister said that a special SOP is being prepared for the resumption of classes in schools and colleges.

Meanwhile, the Assam government has decided to roll back its previous decision to reserve 75 per cent seats in all government colleges for undergraduate courses for AHSEC students.
Pegu said that 75 percent reservation of seats in colleges for students of AHSEC will not be applicable in urban areas.
