GUWAHATI: Assam Pradesh Congress Committee president, Ripun Bora will shift to Naoboicha assembly seat this time said senior BJP leader and Assam cabinet minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma.

Addressing party workers after a rally in Ripun Bora’s home constituency Gohpur, Dr. Sarma said, “It is unfortunate that the state Congress president has been in favour of Miya Museum, Miya Poetry, Miya School and is taking the lead to promote Miya Culture in Assam.”

Hitting Ripun Bora for his partnership with All India United Democratic Front, Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma said, “The spirit of Assam is under attack by Congress and AIUDF, and this attack is led by Gohpur’s former MLA Ripun Bora. Due to the popularity of incumbent BJP MLA Utpal Bora the AICC president will shift to Naoboicha to contest the Assam Assembly Election.”

A host of programmes were organized by the Bharatiya Janata Party in Gohpur on Thursday. After addressing a large gathering the minister cycled 14 kilometers along with hundreds of party workers from Doimalu grounds to Kolabari. Members of Parliament Biswajit Daimary and Pallab Lochan Das, state minister Ranjit Dutta, Pramod Barthakur and thousands of BJP workers and general public attended the programmes.
