GUWAHATI: Bongaigaon thermal power project of state-owned National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) has been working at a rapid pace towards community development of many villages under the aegis of CSR-CD program. The power station on Sunday donated a community toilet at Dholmara in Kokrajhar district at a cost of over Rs. 22.44 lakh.
The community toilet was inaugurated by Rakesh Kumar, CGM, NTPC Bongaigaon. T Ravinder, GM (Operations and Maintenance), R. Panda GM(Maintenance), D.P Patra, GM(Operations), Arunasish Das, AGM(Projects), A.K. Chawla, AGM(HR), Bhaskar Gupta, DGM(HR), Sandhip Debbarma, Manager (CSR), and other officials of NTPC Bongaigaon and Dholmara Market President and committee members were present on the occasion.
Rakesh Kumar later handed over the keys to the President of the Dholmara Market and spoke on the importance of hygiene and highlighted necessary precautions against COVID-19.
It is pertinent to mention that the community toilet was requested by the local community to the NTPC. The community facility has been constructed by the PWD Department, Kokrajhar on deposit work basis by the NTPC.
