GUWAHATI: The Meghalaya Government has agreed to construct an alternative road from Shillong to Guwahati via Rani-Azara road.
Meghalaya Speaker Metbah Lyngdoh laid the foundation stone of the new road on Wednesday(February 24).
The road is expected to be completed within 2 years and will lessen the travel time from Shillong to Guwahati’s LGBI Airport. Meghalaya Government has sanctioned a total of Rs. 196 crore for the construction of the 79 kilometers road.
