Guwahati: Kamrup Metropolitan District Administration on Saturday issued an order that all Wholesale grocery shops will remain open from 3PM to 6PM on 5th & 7th July i.e. Sunday & Tuesday in Guwahati.
As per the order, Retail grocery shops will remain open from 11AM to 4PM on 6th & 8th July i.e. Monday & Wednesday.
Kamrup Metropolitan District Administration has also been directed to allow only 20% of grocery shops remain open in any given day). All other restrictions to remain same.
The order issued by ASDMA Chief Secretary Kumar Sanjay Krishna states the following points
“In continuation of Notification No. ASDMA 24/2020/Part-1/76 dated 26th June 2020 and pursuance of MHA Guidelines issued vide No.40-3/2020-DM-I(A) dated 29th June, 2020, the following activities are allowed for the week between 5th July, 2020 and 12th July, 2020 with strict observance of all COVID 19 in Kamrup Metropolitan District
- Grocery shops are allowed to operate between 11 AM and 4 PM on Mondays and Wednesdays ( 6th & 8th July, 2020). However, Deputy Commissioner shall issue requisite directives to ensure that only 20% of all shops are allowed to open on any given day. Shopkeepers and customers shall have to wear masks, hand gloves and maintain social distancing. Responsibility of maintenance of social distancing will be on the shop owner and failure to do so will be viewed very seriously and may entail summery closure of defaulting shop. Maintenance of price line and prevention of artificial shortage will be the responsibility of shop keepers and Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department;
- Whole sellers of grocery items are allowed to replenish stocks of retailers on Sunday (5th July, 2020) and Tuesday (7th July, 2020) between 3 PM and 6 PM. No retail sale is allowed in this period;
- Activities relating to essential items supply from and to FCI establishments shall be allowed to operate. FCI will ensure that social distancing is maintained while loading/ unloading of goods and that vehicles carrying goods to outside of the District proceed to destinations without any stoppage inside the Kamrup Metropolitan District under any circumstances, House to house sale of fruits and vegetables shall be allowed between 8 AM and 2 PM on Monday and Wednesday (6th & 8th July, 2020);
- House to House sale of fruits and vegetables should be allowed between 8 am and 2 pm on Monday and Wednessday (6th & 8th July 2020)
- Activities relating to wholesale distribution of medicines and medical equipment shall be allowed between 10 AM and 3 PM only on Monday and Wednesday 6th & 8th July, 2020);
- Veterinary clinics, veterinary medicine shop”.
