Disaster at Delhi’s Nizamuddin: 456 people from Assam attended religious event


GUWAHATI: The Assam Government has received another list of 157 persons from Assam who were near hotspot of Tablighi Jamaat at Nizamuddin Dargarh. Earlier, the government received a list of 299 persons of the state who attended the religious event paying no heed to Coronavirus concerns. Therefore, the total number of people from Assam who attended the congregation at Nizamuddin will be 456.

“We are acting swiftly and in best possible manner to quarantine all of them, as and when they reach Assam or those who may have reached,” health minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma stated in a Tweet. 

The huge religious congregation at Nizamuddin in Delhi has emerged as a serious threat to the public health across the country as 6 persons from Telangana who attended the event died of Coronavirus.
