Chandra Mohan orders removal of encroachment on government lands

Guwahati: A meeting was held on Friday to discuss the issues of land Encroachment, Landslides, Artificial Flood, etc in Assam. 

The meeting was chaired by Chandra Mohan Patowary, Minister of Industry, Transport, and Skill Development. 

The meeting was also attended by Guwahati Lok Sabha constituency MP Queen Ojha, Dispur constituency MLA Atul Bora, East Guwahati constituency MLA Siddharth Bhattacharya, West Guwahati MLA Ramendra Narayan Kalita Police commissioner Munna Prasad Gupta and several top officials.

Minister Patowary directed the district administration to take prompt steps to make encroachment-free in the Amchang Wildlife Sanctuary.

The Minister directed the District Forest Officers to take necessary measures to ensure that the forest land should not be damaged by illegally cutting of forest trees or encroachment of forest land in connection with allegations made by MLA Atul Bara about the encroachment of land at Amchang Wildlife Sanctuary.

Stating that the civil committee is involved in land encroachments in the district at times, he focused on re-constituting the civil committees by next July and he also directed the District Police Commissioner to take appropriate action in this area.
