GUWAHATI: The district administration and health department sealed off 2 No. Milanpur Masjid at Chandamri in Guwahati. According to reports, Mahabbat Hussain, the Mowajjin of the mosque had returned from Nalbari by an ambulance on Sunday. Nalbari has been classified as COVID-19 Red Zone.
When the local residents of Milanpur area came to know about his return from Nalbari, they immediately informed police and health officials. Later health department quarantined the man and his wife and their 3-year child. The administration also sealed the mosque as a preventive measure.
“He (Mowajjin) returned from Nalbari. He came in an ambulance. We informed police as he had returned from Red Zone,” said a local resident.
It needs to be mentioned that inter-district travel has been banned for the districts falling under Red Zone.
