GUWAHATI: Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) president Ripun Bora claimed that the BJP would not get more than 30 seats in the upcoming assembly elections slated to be held in 2021.
“BJP will not get more than 20-30 seats. They will be diminished. We the Congress and our alliance will get the highest number of seats,” Bora said.
Bora also urged all the regional forces to unite against the BJP.
Earlier, Assam health and finance minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma said that the BJP would get 100 seats in the assembly elections.
Expressing his confidence over a clean sweep in the upcoming polls, Dr. Sarma asked other parties to distribute remaining 26 seats among themselves.
“We will get 100. Let them distribute remaining 26 seats among themselves,” said Dr. Sarma.
There are 126 seats in the Assam Legislative Assembly.
