GUWAHATI: Following an order issued by the secretary to the Assam excise department, the (Kamrup Metropolitan) deputy commissioner has allowed the opening of all the IMFL “ON” shops in the district from 10 AM to 5 PM following COVID-19 precautionary norms set by the government.
The Assam excise department in a separate notification allowed the restaurants to serve liquor if they have liquor “ON” license. However, the restaurants have to follow COVID-19 protocols.
“The Government of Assam has accorded the approval of allowing the restaurants to serve liquor (If they have liquor “ON” license) with the opening of restaurants subject to compliance of the social distancing and other precautionary norms as per guidelines issued by the Government in view of COVID-19 pandemic,” stated in an order issued by the secretary to the excise department.
