GUWAHATI: In an anti-narcotic drive, South Salamara Mankachar Police in western Assam arrested a smuggler with a huge quantity of contraband drugs.
Police arrested one Akhidul Islam, a resident of Mankachar Police Station areas with 1200 YABA/R 7 tablets.
A case has been registered under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act 1985 (NDPS Act) against the accused.
“Based on secret tip-off anti narcotic drive was carried and arrested one Akhidul Islam,S/O Abdul Samad,P.S.Mankachar and seized 1200nos.YABA/R 7 tablets form his possession. Case has been registered against the arrested accused under sec of NDPS Act,” said South Salmara Mankachar Police in a tweet.
