GUWAHATI: All Assam Students’ Union (AASU) chief advisor Dr. Samujjal Kumar Bhattacharjya announced that he would retire from the students’ body at Duliajan conference which is scheduled to be held from November 18 to 21 this year. Dr. Bhattacharjya made the announcement at Sivasagar on Monday.
On the other hand, he revealed that he has no plan to join active politics, but he will continue to work for the indigenous people of Assam.
“I have been working for the AASU following the requests of my colleagues. I would like to clarify that I will continue to work for the interests of the indigenous people of Assam by remaining outside the circle of politics and political parties,” he said.
