Assam Police seizes 3 lakh psychotropic tablets in Nagaon

GUWAHATI: Assam Police has been continuing its war on drugs. In another successful operation, Nagaon Police on Tuesday confiscated a huge consignment of psychotropic tablets (3 lakh)  from a container truck in the middle Assam district.

Taking to Twitter, director general of police (DGP) Bhaskar Jyoti Mahanta wrote, “@assampolice

DOES IT AGAIN! Today our Anti Narcotics Squad were able to confiscate a huge consignment of psychotropic Tablets (3 lakh) valued at around ₹ 50 Lakh from a Container Truck in Nagaon. It is the 2nd major strike against the cartels in as many days by Assam Police.”

Sharing the information chief minister Dr Himanta Biswa tweeted, “In a follow up Operation to a huge consignment of Psychotropic Drugs,

  seized  again  three Lakh Tablets valued at around Forty Four Lakh from a Container Truck bearing Reg No. HR-55L-2073.

Police is further working on to unearth and catch the whole Supply”

The chief minister in a separate tweet stated that in connection with Assam Police’s fight against the menace of narcotics, 16 arrests were made in eight cases on Monday.
