Guwahati: One more Assam Police constable succumbed to COVID-19 infection taking the number of fatality in the department to six.
Lakheswar Hazarika of Nagaon Police made the supreme sacrifice in the fight against COVID-19 pandemic.
“We are saddened to inform that Constable Lakheswar Hazarika of @nagaonpolic made the supreme sacrifice in the fight against #COVID_19. Our thoughts & prayers are with his family. Those who passed away fighting #Corona, continue inspiring us to serve the people even better,” Assam Police tweeted on Friday.
Till Friday, 2154 Assam Police personnel tested positive for Coronavirus. Out of them 1543 have recovered and 607 personnel have rejoined duty.
