GUWAHATI: A man has been brutally beaten to death at Bongaltola in Ramdia, Hajo in the morning today. The man identified as Harekrishna Kalita was killed by the family members of one Paresh Bharali.
According to reports, deceased Harekrishna Kalita from Patacharkuchi of Barpeta district entered the residence of Paresh Bharali and hit his wife Anita Bharali. Following that the family members of Paresh started to beat Harekrishna which left him seriously injured.
Later, police with the help of village head admitted the man to a nearby hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
The accused also destroyed the two-wheeler of the victim.
“We have arrested five accused for the murder. They are Joymoti Bharali, Janardan Bharali, Dwipjyoti Bharali, Dwijen Deka and Paresh Bharali,” said police.
