Assam: Himanta Biswa Sarma expresses gratitude to Sarathi 104 staff

GUWAHATI: The helpline number ‘Sarathi 104’ of National Health Mission, Assam has been playing a pivotal role in the fight against Coronavirus. Health minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma has expressed his gratitude to the staff of the helpline for their tremendous contribution and untiring effort to defeat Covid-19.

Taking to Twitter on Thursday minister Himanta Biswa Sarma wrote, “Sarathi 104 our helpline number, having an intake capacity of 6000 calls per day has crossed all barriers and has attended to more than 9000 calls up to 10 pm today and still ticking.”

“My gratitude to all the dedicated staff of 104,” he added.

The professionals of Sarathi 104 are not only giving health advice to the people in the wake of Coroanavirus outbreak, but also played a very important role in tracing out the attendees of Nizamuddin Markaz who returned to Assam.

“Many people contacted us on 104. They informed us that a lot of people from their localities had returned from Nizamuddin Markaz in Delhi. Based on the alert from Delhi and inputs on 104 we have identified these people,” minister Sarma said during a live show ‘Samayiki’ with News Live consulting editor Dhruba Mahanta.
