Assam Govt. signs MoU with SBI on bank loans for PwDs

Guwahati: The Assam Government on Friday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with State Bank of India (SBI) to provide loans to Persons with disabilities (PwD) employees of the state government.

As per the MoU, PwD employees of the state government can avail bank loans up to Rs. 10 lakhs for purchasing two-wheelers and four-wheelers.

The MoU was signed in presence of Assam finance minister Ajanta Neog and SBI Assistant General Manager Binoy Kumar.

Informing the same, Neog tweeted, “Today,An MoU was signed between Government of Assam & State Bank of India in presence of Commissioner Sec,Addl Sec of Finance Dept.Under this initiative, Divyang employees of GoA will be able to avail 4% subsidy on loan interest for purchasing of two/four wheeler #statebankofindia.”

Assam government will provide a four per cent subsidy of the total loan amount.
