Assam Govt appoints Home Guard Borsing Bey as Police constable

GUWAHATI: The Assam Government in a cabinet decision on Thursday appointed Home Guard Borsing Bey as an Assam Police Constable. Borsing Bey had refused a huge bribe from drug dealers and helped recover drugs valued at Rs. 12 crore in Karbi Anglong. Bey recovered the drugs from a Guwahati-bound night super bus bearing registration number MN06B-0511 at a check gate under Dilai Police Station.

His action was praised by everyone and Borsing Bey became a household name for his act. The Assam Police awarded him with a cash reward of Rs. 1 lakh for his honest and selfless act.

 

 

Briefing media persons in Guwahati on cabinet decisions, Assam cabinet minister Pijush Hazarika informed that Borsing Bey has been appointed as constable in Assam Police from today.

“Borsing Bey, a home guard, had refused a cash bribe and recovered drugs worth Rs. 12 crore. The cabinet has decided to appoint him as a constable in Assam Police from today. This is positive news for all of us that the cabinet has taken,” said Hazarika.
