Guwahati: All educational institutes in Assam will reopen from January 1, 2021 informed Assam Education Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Monday.
Schools, colleges and other educational institutes will reopen on a regular basis with full attendance and the staggered system of attendance will be withdrawn with regular classes at all levels. Earlier, the schools from classes 6 to 12 were reopened in Assam on November 2 following all COVID-19 protocols. After assessing the situation, the state government decided to reopen all educational institutes from January 1 onwards.
Wearing of masks, use of sanitizers and social distancing will be mandatory for all.
“All schools and colleges will reopen from January 1. It will be converted to regular class. The staggered system will be withdrawn. Wearing of masks, use of sanitizers, and social distancing will continue,” said Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma.
