GUWAHATI: Assam health and finance minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma had a meeting with Guwahati Lakhtokia Masjid leaders at National Health Mission, Assam office on Saturday. The state headquarter of Tablighi Jamaat is situated at Lakhtokia Masjid.
To control the Coronavirus outbreak in Assam, health minister Dr. Sarma requested the Jamaat leaders to share the list of all those who visited the Nizamuddin Markaz, the hotspot of COVID19 cases across the country.
Along with Dr. Sarma, minister of state for health and family welfare Pijush Hazarika, additional director general of police (ADGP) GP Singh were also present in the meeting.

Earlier on Saturday, health minister Dr. Sarma urged the Jamaat leaders to cooperate and disclose the names of the attendees from Assam.
“My last humble request to the state and district ‘Aamirs’ of Jamaat to provide the list of the people who had attended the Tablighi Jammat,” said minister Sarma in a press meet in Guwahati.
