Assam CM holds meeting with Union MoS Railways & Textiles

Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma today held a meeting with Union ministry of states, Railways and Textiles Darshana Jardosh in Guwahati. In the meeting, the CM deliberated on railway electrification, doubling of tracks & construction of flyovers across railway tracks in the state.

CM Sarma also requested Jardosh for an elevated corridor in Deepor Beel area for protection of elephants.

Informing this, Himanta Biswa tweeted, “Welcomed Union MoS, Railways & Textiles, Smt @DarshanaJardosh in Ghy. Deliberated on railway electrification, doubling of tracks & construction of flyovers across railway tracks in Assam. Requested her for an elevated corridor in Deepor Beel area for protection of elephants.”

CM Sarma also informed that both discussed increasing the frequency of Rajdhani Express till Agartala for the convenience of passengers.

Taking to his Twitter CM Sarma wrote, “Requested Union MoS to set up Indian Institute of Fashion Technology in Guwahati which will help augment demand of Assamese traditional garments.”
