GUWAHATI: Making a giant leap in solving the problem of unemployment and ensuring quality education in the state, the BJP-led government in Assam has appointed 71,765 teachers during its first tenure. BJP came to power in the northeastern state in 2016.
On Friday, 29,701 teachers were appointed by the State government in the biggest ever recruitment exercise at Sarusajai Sports Complex in Guwahati.
Talking to media persons, Assam Education Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma said, “During the term of our government, we have crossed the 70 thousand-mark in appointment in the education department alone. Today we have handed over appointment letters to 29,701 teachers including provincialisation and new recruitment.”

Sarma stated that in the last five years, the education department has been turned into a department free from problems.
“In the next five years, the department will be able to concentrate on providing quality education,” he added.
