APSC Cash-for-Job Scam: SIT summons two more officers in Guwahati

PUBLISHED:

Two tax inspectors have been summoned by the Assam Police’s Special Investigation Team (SIT) for questioning in the ongoing Assam Public Service Commission (APSC) cash-for-job scam investigation on Tuesday.

Two officers–Priyanka Deka and Jayanta Doley have been asked to appear before the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) headquarters in Guwahati today.

Both of them are accused of using unethical methods in APSC examination, which allowed them to be recommended for appointment.

Doley’s scores in English, General Science, and History papers were significantly increased, and despite failing his mains exam, he secured the position of superintendent of taxes.

Deka’s marks in Law and Social Sciences papers were also mysteriously upgraded. The officials are expected to face intense questioning as authorities aim to resolve the long-standing case.

The SIT has also summoned two more gazetted officers for questioning in connection with the APSC scam.
