GUWAHATI: After attending the 1st BTR Accord Day celebrations at Green Field in Kokrajhar, union home minister Amit Shah will address Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) Vijay Sankalp Samaroh in Nalbari of lower Assam today.
Shah is likely to arrive in Nalbari at 1.30 PM to blow the trumpet of upcoming Assam assembly elections.
The union home minister’s visit to the poll-bound state is expected to give much-needed impetus to the saffron party’s campaign for the assembly polls.
“Looking forward to interacting with our sisters and brothers of Assam. Will address a mega rally in Kokrajhar to mark the 1st anniversary of the historic BTR Accord, followed by ‘Vijay Sankalp Samaroh’ in Nalbari,” Shah tweeted.

With a two-day visit to Assam and Meghalaya of northeastern region of the country, Amit Shah arrived in Guwahati in the early hours of Saturday.
On Saturday, he chaired the 69th plenary meeting of the North Eastern Council (NEC) in Shillong.
Later, at a function in Guwahati, Shah rolled out the ‘Ayushman CAPF’ scheme, extending the benefit of the central health insurance programme to the personnel of all armed police forces in the country.
