All Govt schools in Mizoram to have common uniform

Guwahati: All government schools in Mizoram will have a common school uniform. The decision was taken during the Human Resources Development Board meeting held yesterday. 

In the meeting, which was presided by the Minister of School Education Lalchhandama, the board decided that the suggestion for one school uniform for all government schools should be relayed immediately to the government authorities. 

The board also decided to make singing of the song “Aw, Nang kan Lal kan Pathian”, composed by Rokunga, mandatory in schools. 

Minister of School Education Lalchhandama said that the Board had requested the Chief Minister to recruit teachers in order to make up for the shortage of teachers in several institutions. 

He added for this purpose an amount of Rs. 157 lakh has been received for the recruitment of High School teachers within the Academic Session of 2021-2022. 

He said an additional fund of Rs. 53 lakh had also been sanctioned for the recruitment of teachers. 

According to the Minister, an amount of Rs. 390 lakh has also been received for the 2022-2023 academic session for the recruitment of 199 High School Teachers, 67 Middle School Teachers,191 Primary School Teachers,36 LDC staff for High School Exam Centres and 27 Grade-IV workers.
