GUWAHATI: A fast track court will hear the case of mob-lynching at Mariani under upper Assam’s Jorhat district where a youth named Debasish Gogoi was mercilessly killed by a mob. Jorhat MP Topon Kumar Gogoi who visited the victim’s family on Monday told media persons that the heinous incident will be tried by a fast track court. Gogoi informed that he had already spoken to chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal to set-up a fast track court.
Rajya Sabha MP Kamakhya Prasad Tasa also met the victim’s family and offered his condolence. On the other hand, Pro-talk United Liberation Front of Assam (ULFA) leaders Arabinda Rajkhowa, Kaberi Kachari Rajkonwar and Jiten Dutta visited the family and demanded justice for the victim.
