GUWAHATI: Guwahati Police has launched the massive search operation to nab all the six attackers of popular singer Zubeen Garg. Police has already identified five accused including expelled National Students’ Union of India (NSUI) leader Hirakjyoti Rajbongshi. However, all of them are still untraced.
On the other hand, police is yet to confirm the whereabouts of the car which was used by the gang.
Singer Garg was attacked by a group of miscreants at around 12.40 AM in the Ganeshguri area of Guwahati while the singer was returning to his home from the studio on Wednesday.
The six member group was travelling in a Suzuki Ciaz car bearing registration number, AS-01BY-0675. The group who came out from the car had beer bottles in their hands, hurled abuses as well as attempted attack on the singer.
Following the incident, Zuben lodged an FIR at Dispur Police Station.
