Indian wrestler Ravi Kumar Dahiya assured Silver Medal for the country. Dahiya defeated Kazakhstan’s Nurislam Sanayev in the semi finals at Tokyo Olympics. Dahiya won in the men’s freestyle 57 kg by fall.
Ravi, an Indian freestyle wrestler had won a bronze medal at the 2019 World Wrestling Championships in the 57 kg category and had secured a place for himself in the 2020 Summer Olympics. The 23 year-old is a resident of Sonipat, Haryana.
Dahiya bagged gold at the 2020 Asian Wrestling Championships in New Delhi and the 2021 Asian Wrestling Championships in Almaty.
Ravi Kumar Dahiya has become the second Indian wrestler ever to enter the Olympics wrestling final after Sushil Kumar in the 2012 London Olympics.
