GUWAHATI: With 1680 new COVID-19 patients, Assam witnessed biggest single-day spike on Tuesday. Among the new cases, 570 cases are from Guwahati alone. Jorhat and Cachar reported 167 and 159 Coronavirus cases respectively.
With the surge in cases, the total number of COVID-19 patients in Assam mounted to 26772. Currently, there are 8672 active cases in the state.
Assam health minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma stated in a tweet that 18152 tests were carried out on Tuesday.
“With 18152 tests carried out in 24 hours, our positivity rate is 9.2%,” Sarma mentioned in a tweet.
