GUWAHATI: The Assam Government will provide two lakh jobs in another four years’ time. The Bharatiya Janata Party had promised to provide one lakh jobs to the youth of Assam in their election manifesto and is gearing up to fulfill its commitment. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Tuesday announced 1 lakh more jobs once the current vacancies are filled. Speaking at the budget session 2021-22 of Assam Assembly the chief minister said that the state government will provide these jobs anyhow.

“In our Sankalpa Patra we had committed two lakh jobs. We will give one lakh now and rest one lakh in a period of three years. As promised, we will employ two lakh youths by filling the existing vacancies and creating more jobs,” said Himanta Biswa Sarma.

The chief minister further said that there was no doubt that the schemes and projects from the Assam budget can be implemented successfully. He made a comparison of the present government’s five years with Congress’s 15 years and said that the BJP government has achieved more than what was achieved in three Congress terms.
