GUWAHATI: A low-pressure area over Bangladesh affects Northeast India with widespread rain and isolated thunderstorms on Saturday. Especially, heavy rainfall is expected at isolated places of Andhra Pradesh. The low pressure moves northward towards the Himalayan region while weakening.
A cyclonic circulation over the Arabian Sea persists and continues to bring light to moderate rain over South and West India along Konkan & Malabar coast within the next couple of days.
Another cyclonic circulation is anticipated to form over the Bay of Bengal on Tuesday. This system travels westwards toward Andhra Pradesh, therefore scattered rain is expected to continue along the Coromandel coast from Tuesday onwards. Light to moderate snow or rain and lightning are expected in the West Himalayan region as an upper-level cold trough passes from Saturday night to Sunday.
Much of the country’s temperature is forecast to near or warmer than average for the next 5 days although cooler trends are expected in some area of Northeast India on Saturday.
