GUWAHATI: Amid speculations over the reopening of schools and colleges, Assam minister of state for education Bhabesh Kalita said that the government has been making necessary arrangements to open the educational institutes maintaining COVID-19 precautions.
“Our first priority is to sanitise the schools from September 1 to 15. Our second priority is to ensure the social distancing by making the seat arrangements,” Kalita said on Friday.
Meanwhile, the teachers across the state are undergoing COVID-19 tests from August 21 to 30 as mandated by the state government.
Though the government is yet to take a final decision on resuming the physical classes, the teachers have been asked to mandatorily attend their workplaces from September 1.
