Water level of Brahmaputra rises in Guwahati

Guwahati: The water level of the river Brahmaputra has been rising due to heavy rainfall in upper Assam and neighbourhood states.

Several parts of Guwahati  has been submerged.

According to an official of the Central Water Commission, water has been increasing in the Brahmaputra for the last four to five days. Now, this water is flowing near the warning level.

Speaking to ANI, Sadikul Haq of Central Water Commission said, “Water level is rising for past 3-4 days & flowing above the warning level. Upper regions received rainfall, causing a rise in water level.”
Now, this water is flowing near the warning level. According to the government report, five districts of Assam are in the grip of floods.
