GUWAHATI: Guwahati boy Rekib’s video went viral on Social Media after he shared a video where he sang a song with Bollywood singer Jubin Nautiyal.
Rekib, a resident of Garigaon area in Guwahati is a singer by profession and recently met singer Jubin Nautiyal at Silver Brook Resort, Cherapunjee.
“I went to meet Jubin Nautiyal as I am a big fan of his songs. I didn’t plan for the video, I wanted to meet him as I am thinking of making a cover song video on his song. So, I wanted to take his suggestions as well. We also had coffee together and after meeting him, suddenly I decided to record the video and somehow it went viral on the Social Media,” said Rekib in a telephonic conversation.
Rekib has worked as a singer in many Assamese songs including ‘Bohagor Rang’ by Zubeen Garg. Asked about the viral video he said that he is very happy and it is good news for him as many people have appreciated him and his works.
“My singing career started during 2005 and my first song with Zubeen Garg and Tarali Sarma is ‘Bohagor Rang’ that was released in 2008. I have also produced Hindi cover songs. Currently, my Hindi cover songs like ‘Dil ka dariya’ and ‘Tum hi Aana’ are under process and will be released soon. I am also singing a song for an upcoming Hindi film ‘Naach Romeo’,” Rekib added.
