Two more die of COVID-19 in Meghalaya, 70 new cases detected

Shillong: Two persons infected with coronavirus died in Meghalaya on Sunday, taking the total number of COVID-19 deaths in the state to 110, a senior health official said.

Seventy more people have tested positive for COVID-19 in the northeastern state, pushing the coronavirus tally to 11,339, the health official said.

The number of active cases in the state has risen to 894, Health Services director Aman War said. As many as 99 patients have been cured of the disease, increasing the recovery tally to 10,335 in the state, he said.

So far, a total of 2.29 lakh samples have been tested for COVID-19 in Meghalaya, War said. PTI
