GUWAHATI: Due to continuous rise in COVID-19 cases across Assam and accordingly rise in demand of oxygen, the Government has decided to set up two oxygen tanks in Gauhati Medical College and Hospital(GMCH) campus.
One tank has been set up in GMCH campus and another one is being set up at the COVID care hospital in GMCH.
This liquid oxygen tank will minimize the use of general oxgen tank for each patient, and the patients will be provided oxygen through a pipeline which will be directly connected to this liquid oxygen tank.
“It can supply around 18 cylinder per hour. The Liquid oxygen will be converted to vapour and the gas will be transferred to the patients through centrallized pipeline,” said a technician.
