NEW DELHI: The Manipur Government has started distribution of relief materials including food and other essentials through Manipur Bhawan in New Delhi to the people from the State stranded at the National Capital.
Food grains like Rice and pulses and other food items including potatoes and cooking oil were distributed to nearly 500 people from the State on Friday.
The relief distribution has been carried out for the past 3 days, covering almost 200 students in Gurgaon, a hundred in New Delhi and 400 students in Munirka.
“We are here in Munirka right now. We have been receiving rice and grains from the Manipur Government. We are really thankful for the help and everything they have done for this people here in Munirka,” said a Manipur resident residing in Munirka, New Delhi.
Over 17,000 people have registered to teng-bang, a website launched by the Manipur government to reach out to people from the state stranded in other parts of the Country.
Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh tweeted about the distribution of relief materials through his twitter handle.
Relief materials were distributed for the third day in a row to more than 500 Manipuri students, needy people & those who are stuck in transit in Delhi’s Vijay Nagar Area, through the Resident Com. Manipur Bhavan/Nodal officer.
