Tokyo Olympics: PV Sindhu storms into semi-finals

Guwahati: PV Sindhu defeated Japanese Akane Yamaguchi in straight games to book her place in the semi-finals of the women’s individual event. 

The game lasted 4 minutes short of an hour, Sindhu maintained her composure, winning the first game 21-13.

She got a tough fight from Yamaguchi in the 2nd game but she kept going and won the game 22-20, thus, winning the match.

This marks Sindhu’s 4th consecutive straight games victory in the Tokyo Olympics. She has not lost a single game in the tournament.

PV Sindhu will face either World No. 1 Tai Tzu Ying of Taiwan of World No. 6 Ratchanok Intanon of Thailand in the semi-final on July 31.
