GUWAHATI: Three Assam Police personnel have been arrested from Bongaigaon on Thursday night. The Special Branch of Assam Police reportedly arrested officer-in-charge of Gerukabari outpost Pritam Das and two constables in connection with the sub-inspector (SI) recruitment scam.
However, police has not revealed anything about their involvement in the case.
Meanwhile, on Thursday, another accused Saruj Sarma was arrested from Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport in Guwahati. The accused who was on run has been arrested based on the confessions of former deputy inspector general (DIG) of police Prasanta Kumar Dutta, the prime accused in the case. Dutta is being grilled by the criminal investigation department (CID). He reportedly revealed many names involved in the crime.
Saruj was associated with the Akshay Telecommunication, a company which got the sub-contract for conducting SI recruitment scam. The company was allegedly involved in the question paper leak case. Its office at Bongaigaon was sealed by the police.
