GUWAHATI: The war of words between former Assam chief minister Tarun Gogoi and health, finance and education minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma has been continuing as the stage has already been set for Assam assembly elections in 2021.
Taking a potshot at Gogoi for his growing closeness with AIUDF chief Maulana Badruddin Ajmal, Himanta Biswa Sarma said that the former chief minister has got Ajmal’s blood.
“Before the last elections, when Tarun Gogoi met Koch Rajbongshi people he used to say ‘I have Chilarai’s blood’. Gogoi tells Ahom people he has Sukapha’s blood. He also claims to have Birsa Munda’s blood. His blood should be tested,” Dr. Sarma said.
“But I believe he has now got Ajmal’s blood,” Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma took a dig at Gogoi.
