State’s two Education Boards to be Amalgamated into one

Guwahati November 16, 2023: A number of significant decisions were today taken at a meeting of the Assam Cabinet.

These include the amalgamation of two educational boards namely the Secondary Education Board of Assam (SEBA) and Assam Higher Secondary Education Board (AHSEC) into what has been christened the Assam State School Education Board (ASSEB).

Apart from this, the Budget session of the state Assembly had been slated to begin on February 5, 2024. The Press briefing was conducted by PHE Minister Jayanta Malla Baruah

Along with this, all “Sulabh Mulya Dukan” will distribute rice between the 1st to 10th of every month.

The registration fee of electric vehicles, meanwhile has been decreased from 10 per cent to 8 per cent. A highlight of today’s cabinet meeting was the declaration of distribution of land pattas to 3,575 families of indigenous communities.

The Cabinet also okayed the formation of a Khasi-Jaintia Development Committee. Also 10 districts under the Mising Autonomous Council would have a holiday on  the occasion of Ali Aai Ligang.

Adding to changes in the state’s education policy was the adoption of a number of amendments to Service Rules. Further to this, the Cabinet also decided that about 1,900 Raax Committees that were at least three years old would be given financial aid of Rs 25,000 each.
