SRK’s son Aryan Khan being questioned in Mumbai cruise drugs case, phone seized

Guwahati: The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) is questioning Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan in the Mumbai drug bust case on Cordelia Cruises’ Empress ship.

According to reports published in India Today, NCB is questioning Aryan Khan in connection with the rave party that was busted on Saturday night after officials raided a cruise ship off the Mumbai coast. Aryan Khan has not been booked on any charges and has not been arrested so far, said Sameer Wankhede, Zonal Director of NCB.

Besides Aryan Khan, his close friend Arbaaz Merchant, Munmun Dhamecha, Nupur Sarika, Ismeet Singh, Mohak Jaswal, Vikrant Chhoker and Gomit Chopra are also being questioned.

The NCB has also summoned six of the organisers who had planned the cruise party. Kashiff Khan, managing director of FTV India, is also under scanner and NCB has reached out to him. The event was organised under the supervision of Kashiff Khan.

Aryan Khan is Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan’s eldest son. The couple also have a daughter, Suhana Khan, and another son, AbRam.

Three girls who had arrived from Delhi to join the cruise party were also detained and are being questioned. These include the daughters of some prominent businessmen.

WHAT HAS THE NCB SAID ON RECOVERY OF DRUGS?

In a statement, NCB said drugs like ecstasy, cocaine, mephedrone and charas were recovered from the cruise and a case had been registered. The agency said eight people, including two women, were apprehended and their role was being investigated.

“On the basis of specific information, the officials of NCB, Mumbai, conducted a raid on the Cordelia cruise that was bound from Mumbai to Goa on October 2. During the operation, all suspects, as per the information, were searched and various drugs like MDMA/ecstasy, cocaine, MD (mephedrone) and charas were recovered. A total of 8 persons, including 2 females, have been apprehended and their role being investigated in relation to the said recovery. NCB has registered crime no. Cr 94/21 in this matter. Further investigation is underway,” the NCB said.

Jurgen Bailom, president and CEO of Cordelia Cruises, confirmed that the narcotics department found drugs in some passengers’ luggage. “These passengers were off-loaded by Cordelia immediately. The sailing of the cruise got delayed because of this,” he said.

HOW WAS THE RAVE PARTY BUSTED?

On Saturday night, the NCB raided a cruise ship in Mumbai that was departing for a three-day ‘musical voyage’ with people from Bollywood, fashion and the business sectors. Sources said the raid was conducted following a tip-off that banned drugs were being used.

The NCB officials, led by zonal director Sameer Wankhede, boarded the ship disguised as passengers on Saturday. The rave party began once the cruise left the coast of Mumbai and reached mid-sea.

WHAT EVENTS WERE PLANNED ON THE CRUISE SHIP?

India Today TV has accessed the details of the event that the organisers had promised to the guests during the three-day cruise journey. The cruise was supposed to depart at 2 pm from Mumbai and return at 10 am on October 4 after sailing in the Arabian Sea.

The event, named Cray’Ark, was organised by FashionTV India with Namascray onboard the Cordelia, an Indian cruise liner.

Interestingly, a document called the Crayark Bible that was circulated by the event managers of the cruise had a “no drugs or illegal substances” part.

The organisers, for the first day, had promised musical performances by Miami-based DJ Stan Kolev along with famous DJ’s Bullzeye, Browncoat and Deepesh Sharma.

On Day 2, from 1 pm to 8 pm, an FTV pool party was organised for the guests. During the pool party, Raoul K, a DJ from Ivory Coast, was supposed to perform along with Indian DJ Kohra and Moroccan artist Kayza.

After 8 pm, FTV’s Champagne all-black party was organised for the special guests. Later that night, from 10 pm to 7 am, electronic music circuits by HOSH Space Motion and others were supposed to perform for the guests.
