GUWAHATI: Taking a potshot at opposition, Assam health and finance minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma alleged that a section of people has become a part of death syndicate in the state.
“There is no syndicate in COVID-19. The fight is all about men versus COVID-19. If you are not helping us, then you are the part of the death syndicate,” Sarma took on a section of people for their unnecessary criticism to demoralise the morale of the COVID warriors.
Speaking exclusively to News Live chief managing editor Syed Zarir Hussain on his show ‘Prekhyapat’, health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said, “They are frustrated, negative people who want more deaths. They don’t care about the lives of the elderly of Assam. They are not positive people.”
He also claimed that Bharatiya Janata party (BJP) would perform better in next Assam assembly elections in 2021 compared to the last Lok Sabha elections.
“BJP will get 100 seats. It is clear. Congress may form alliance with AIUDF or any other party. It doesn’t matter,” Sarma said.
Replying to a question on forthcoming assembly elections, the senior BJP leader said, “The people of Assam have been watching what we are doing in every aspect—be it Corona, flood or for the interests of the region.”
