Guwahati: The Sikkim Government on Monday opened its doors for tourists who have taken both doses of the COVID-19 vaccine.
The relaxation is allowed for those fully vaccinated and after the submission of RT-PCR negative report at Melli and Rangpo check-posts.
The fully vaccinated people can enter the state after exhibiting vaccination certificates at the border check-gates
The movement of passengers boarding or returning from Pakyong or Bagdogra airports and New Jalpaiguri Railway station in West Bengal will be allowed on the production of journey tickets and negative RT-PCR reports conducted within 72 hours of arrival.
The State government had prohibited the entry of tourists since March this year following a surge in the cases.
The State government also allowed hotels, guest houses and homestays to operate at 50% capacity with strict adherence to COVID protocols. Shopping malls, showrooms and shops have been allowed to open.
