Sikkim: CM Tamang inaugurates Bhaichung Bhutia stadium

Guwahati: The Bhaichung Stadium at Namchi inaugurated by Governor Ganga Prasad in the presence of Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang.

The much awaited stadium has approximately 7500 seating capacity along with the ‘Fifa Quality Pro’ label.

“I was delighted to be present for the inauguration of the Bhaichung Stadium by the Hon’ble Governor, Shri Ganga Prasad Ji, in the presence of Cabinet Ministers, MLAs, Advisors, Chief Secretary, DGP, ACSs, Secretaries, senior officials, and dignitaries”, said the CM.

The total area of the stadium is 19650 SQM in which the playing field area is 105m X 68m, respectively.

The sporting surface is made of tiger turf.

The stadium is equipped with the facilities like the offices for physiotherapists, managers, linesmen, referees, changing and coach rooms.

Additionally, there are a food court, computer, media and public address rooms. A mess and a space for the hall of fame have also been put up.

The arena is equipped with a state-of-art firefighting system, rainwater harvesting tank, digital scoreboard, boundary fencing, diesel generator set, green gallery and a parking facility for at least 50 cars.

The stadium also has a VVIP lounge, hostel, warden, commentators and a utility room.
