Guwahati: Sidharth Malhotra and South star Rashmika Mandanna have kicked off the shooting of Mission Majnu in Lucknow. It is a film on India’s most ambitious covert operation. The film is inspired by real events set in the 1970s and is the story of India’s most courageous mission in the heart of Pakistan that forever changed the relationship between the two nations.
Sharing their first look today along with the film’s script, Sidharth captioned the photo as, “A special one with a special team. #MissionMajnu, day 1.”

Rashmika also shared a similar photo and wrote, “Ahhhh… I sooooo can’t wait to join my team. Let the mission start!!! #MissionMajnu.”

Written by Parveez Shaikh, Aseem Arrora, and Sumit Batheja the thriller stars Sidharth Malhotra as a RAW agent who leads the mission. This film marks two important firsts – it will be South actress Rashmika Mandanna’s highly-anticipated Bollywood debut and the directorial debut of award-winning ad filmmaker, Shantanu Bagchi. Mission Majnu is produced by RSVP and Guilty By Association.
